S2 JamFactory Droplet launch/Customs show

12 01 2010

Hello! Just wanted to share the flyer design just through from Gavin @ JamFactory for the Droplet S2 launch in Bristol on the 6th of Feb. Great lineup for this show, I’m gutted I won’t be able to make it down, but for those of you that will, or need some convincing, here is the flyer with full list of artists, and a sneaky peek of my custom Droplet for the show.  You can click to enlarge if the text is too small, or check out the event page here http://www.jam-factory.com/droplet Hope you can make it! 🙂 For those of you that can’t, pics of my custom, and the rest i’m sure will be appearing on Flickr over the coming weeks!

If you’re in the UK, or anywhere else chilly at the moment, keep warm!!

Ghosts of shiny magic & selfish tea love.

13 05 2009

Damn the postmen and their new rules! Okay I may be a little selfish in my cursing, I believe the new early parcel delivery rule is to prevent so many packages being undelivered due to people being out at work during the day, however I was woken at 7:25 this morning (and I believe my clock is a touch fast) by these little beauties (see below) I picked up a set of yellow, and a set of orange (thanks to Urban Retro for the sweet deal) I’m usually a little disappointed with figures in person, I’m dead picky about paint jobs, etc, but these are one of very few items I like better in person, they surprised me. Not only is the quality perfect, but they’re much bigger than I expected and the metal tins are a nice touch! I now have 10 of these to find a use for! If anyone has any tin suggestions, be sure to send them my way in the comments, I don’t mind how silly they are 🙂

I know a few of you will know me a little through Twitter, some of you in person, some through MSN, or maybe you’re a curious stranger who found this blog while searching for animal pornography (I have added this to the tags to ensure this does actually occur at some point, if it does, please feel free to express your disappointment via the comments box) So anyhow, some of you will know my deepest darkest secrets, such as my love of the B52’s, Trifle, Gilmore Girls, and Star Wars. However, none of you know this, I killed a man today. When I say killed, I mean I disappointed him very much. I took the last box of reduced tea bags in the supermarket. The look of disbelief on his face as I walked away with them was staggering, should I have offered half the box as a gesture of goodwill (or is that a Christmas thing?) Maybe just offered him a teabag as some kind of consolation prize? Well, I did none of these, I bought them, and I think I’ll enjoy the tea more, knowing that it very nearly wasn’t mine. I won. The tea is mine. MINE.

Friends With You Luckies/Postal Disappointment

12 05 2009

Well, the post has been and gone, one package arrived out of the 4 that were due today, which was a little disappointing to say the least! The Luckies brought to me however, were a small ray of light. The packaging is really nice, bright, colourful and coated in the weird characters FWY do so well. I have to question the price of these, especially when you consider how tiny they are, they’re not really unlike something you would expect to get out of a capsule machine for ÂŁ1 (and these retail at ÂŁ2.99 over here in the UK), though I guess I knew how small they were before I bought them, the characters draw me in every time. I love the range of different ones available here, but due to the price I just can’t bring myself to buy more, as much as I appreciate the designs. Here’s hoping tomorrow brings a few more deliveries.

Jelly Leg Bubblefun!

9 05 2009

It’s the weekend already! This was a really fast week for me! Lots of customs finished, lots started, and today I finally got out on the new bike! So now I sit here, legs feeling like what i’d imagine it would feel like to have them dangling in a rubber bladed blender. It was good to get out there and see how I did after so long, wobbly at first but I did eventually straighten up and manage to ride for a good hour and a half until the chain fell off and I noticed a few things that needed tightening up.

I came back to the studio to be met by more amazing pictures of the new releases from Crazy Label, the ever awesome Treeson has been revamped with a bubblegum accommodating mouth, and now you can pick up a blind boxed of artist designed bubbles! What I really love about these is how you can attach them to the existing Monster Burp figure with an adaptor, allowing for a bit of customization. Really fun things, It’s great to see the love that Crazy Label and co put into their releases rather than just being an endless conveyor belt of repetitive, soul-less crap (ie Kozik Labbits?) So thank you Crazy Label, I for one will be getting myself some of these! Brilliant!
